THE COGNAC VINTAGES
The choice of the best vintage for the Barnett range
It's in the heart of the "Grande Champagne" Protected Designation of Origin that BARNETT draws its finest eaux-de-vie to produce its prestigious vintages.
In 1938, the "Grande Champagne" was classified "1er cru" in the Cognac region by decree. The "Grande Champagne", covered with 13,200 hectares of vineyards intended for white wine production reserved for Cognac, gives birth to fine and light eaux-de-vie, with a mainly floral bouquet requiring a long oak barrel aging to get its full maturity.
The "Grand Champagne" features a wide range of aromas. This variety is much more developed than in any other Cognac vineyards.
As a Protected Designation of Origin, the Cognac can only be produced in precisely limited area. This area has been defined by decree on May 1st, 1909
